PITT OHIO's signature commitment, "We're Always There For You!" goes beyond the treatment of our employees and customers. At PITT OHIO, "We're Always Thinking Green!" as well. By actively trying to reduce our carbon footprint on the road and at our facilities, we are on the forefront in preserving our environment.

PITT OHIO is committed to improving the environmental performance of our operations in an effort to sustain a healthy planet. We treat our business practices with an environmentally conscious approach.

PITT OHIO works every day to reduce our Carbon Footprint by improving vehicle practices and retro fitting our facilities. It is our goal to promote the construction and maintenance of buildings that are environmentally responsible, efficient and healthy places to work.

We Recycle

PITT OHIO engages in waste product and paper recycling at all of its facilities. Most recently, we began a single sort recycling program at our corporate office and Pittsburgh terminal. Some of PITT OHIO's terminals participate in Pallet Recycling Programs, which reduces costs for waste removal by recycling pallets and junk wood.

PITT OHIO Clean Up

Employees from the company's 7 Pennsylvania terminals have participated in the "Great PA Cleanup" since 2005. PITT OHIO expanded its green efforts in 2009 to include employees from all of its 21 terminals in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. Employees are encouraged to bring their family and friends and participate in community improvement activities such as picking up litter, landscaping, gardening, and other Earth Day beautification projects during the month of April.

The company takes great pride in giving back to the community, which is a part of PITT OHIO's overall mission. Year after year we are awed at the dedication and enthusiasm our employees give to preserving our planets beauty and PITT OHIO is committed to supporting these efforts.

For over three years, PITT OHIO has been a SmartWay Transport Partner and has maintained its commitment to improve the environmental performance of our freight delivery operations. SmartWay Transportation was developed by the EPA to reduce air pollution, green house gas emissions and improve fuel efficiency
